Job Summary

We are recruiting for a permanent Customer Service Advisor, based in Totnes with occasional working at our Dartmouth site. We will consider applications on both a full-time and part-time basis.

You will work in the office on reception, dealing with existing and new customers both on the phone and in person. The role requires you to show customers the different sized units, maintain customer relationship records, prepare storage contracts for new customers and deal with general administration.

South Hams Self Storage Limited is a professional and local company with bespoke indoor storage facilities in Dartmouth and Totnes. We are proud members of the Self Storage Association UK who share best practice in the storage industry. Self-storage is a relatively young industry in the UK, with huge potential to grow. We provide training and career development to help you progress in your career in this exciting industry. We have a site in Dartmouth and are expanding our Totnes site in January 2020.

Experience and skills required:

You need to have a professional approach and have a good eye for detail.
Experience and a background in sales or customer service is also helpful, but most important to your success will be your ability to communicate with people and deal effectively with a variety of customers at potentially difficult or stressful periods in their life.

You will need to be able to use standard computer packages such as Microsoft Word and have excellent organisational and administrative skills.
A full driving licence is required as you may be working at both sites.
The ability to work on your own initiative is important as well as working in the team.

We will provide training in our computer and administration systems and you will receive support from the Store Manager and your colleagues.

Details:

The salary range is £19,000 – £23,000 per annum based on 40 hours a week (pro rata for part time). Starting salary is dependent on your experience and skills.

Part-time hours will be from 9.00am – 5.00pm for 3 days a week (days are flexible but may include Saturdays).

Full-time hours will be 5 days a week (9.00am -5.00pm weekdays)  which may include Saturdays (9.30 am – 4pm)

Holiday entitlement is 28 days per year (pro rata for part time) including public holidays. Free parking on-site is provided.
